Would disconnecting the front propshaft improve fuel economy, and could it cause damage to other components.

Got a problem when turning on full lock which may be due to the transfer box?, difficult to describe but it feels like something is out of line, juddering, this continues for maybe 30yds after a mini roundabout then everything is ok again.
Don't really need 4wd until the winter, hence the question.

You have a seized viscous coupling. Removing the front prop would be a very wise thing to do until you can replace VC. May not save a lot of fuel but will certainly save you the cost of new diffs.

Oh poo!!, is it a big/expensive job to replace the VC?.
I'm fairly handy with the old spanners, but new to RR.

v/c can be changed with box in car ,it is removed by removing front prop from t/box and removing front output housing the shaft on front output flange is part of v/c
