I wasn't even going to try but my Auto Electrician is away.... had a search but nothing specific on this fault.

The 110 passed its MOT a few weeks ago... I had a minor issue with the reversing light that wasn't working, then it decided it would work so left it well alone.

Last week I noticed my brakes lights are not working... changed the fuse and it seemed okay for a day then it went again. Checked the bulbs and conections for muck cleaned them and put a new blue fuse in.

As soon as I turned the ignition I saw the fuse blow..... I have unclipped both brake lamps and taken the bulb out of the reversing lamp (both use the same fuse) and replaced the fuse.......... soon as I turn the ignition the fuse blows.

So with no lights conected the fuse blows I am fookin hopeless with electrics and that was my best effort at problem solving:doh:

Any ideas please?....

I had this problem - you might want to try replacing the reversing light switch that is screwed into the top of the gearbox. Mine was dodgy and kept blowing the reversing lights and the brake lights. New switch only cost about £12 and was an absolute doddle to fit.

trace wires from pedal to fuse box green wire see if chafed /shorted must be fuse box side of pedal switch if blowing fuse with ignition on pedal not pressed

That sounds like a poss solution ... looking through Haynes now to see if pedal switch in the cab or the engine bay!... I kid you not .

The switch for the reversing lamp... thinking back I had a similar problem with my last 90... I still have the switch so it may come in handy. Will try the pedal switch in the morning... many thanks!

pedal switch behind pedal box under bonnet rev switch under center seat panel back of gear box top ,dont screw in too far will limit rev engagement

I had mine blow on my def 200 tdi, a clip had gone, it was the towing electrics had dropped and were on the exhaust, melted through and the rest is history

You was right ..... Just to update... I had a go but could fix it. Auto elec man 15mins..... it was a faulty reversing light switch (uses the same fuse)that was shorting out. Disconected for now and working fine.

Blimey that's a first for me - only other thing I know how to do is wire up spotlights, the rest I get a mate to help with!
