Can anyone tell me what the black box between the cruise control vacuum and the bulkhead is? It has two plastic pipes coming from it.

if memory serves me right it is a charcoal filter.

Thanks Breakers, any idea what it does? One of the pipes on mine at some point has split and the end must have had a coming together with the exhaust as it is all melted.
Just wondering if this could be impacting my emissions (failed its MOT due to high emissions).
