Or a nanocom original. I was going to buy a Nanocom evo but recent events have made me re-think.

i have the original nanocom very happy with it but they are hard to get now so it would be down to the hawkeye or the new nanocom(but i have not herd any thing about the new nanocom)

The Nanocom evolution is a great product, but since BBS took over there have been no updates released, no bug fixes offered and they aren't responding to users queries.
At least with the Hawkeye you'd have decent support and timely updates.

Just three months ago I was in your same position (ass exposed) and after much searching and some great advice(that happened to come from the new nanocom owner and his supplier:doh
, prob no conflict of interest there, I went for the Nanocom Evo.......WHAT A MISTEAK...should have bought the Hawkeye....but you live and learn, best advice read the post from when nancom was taken over by BBS, say from Jan 1st and make your own mind up.

What's best - Nanocom or Hawkeye? Leading question I know but I've had reason to use one already and paying the dealers for simple diagnostic check or reset is money I could spend on pretty things!

I got the nano evo 2 month ago and it is still working.
And I`m not from that company in any way!

true, only had the normal SLS troubles by now.
MY only problem is that I couldn`t find a good description for the Evo and therefore it is trial and error
