i am converting my 90 van into a csw an was wondering if i send my log book to dvla will thay change it to csw

Wrong. You can get it changed...and inform your insurance co too.

As storm99 said ... it'll probably be listed as a van by the insurance co. at the moment, they tend to presume that having window's mean's having passenger's in the back, so best inform them & DVLA if any seat's are being added.

It can be a pain though as my step-dad found out. He bought an ex-works transit, removed 3 seat's & added a side window. He had major grief from the insurance companies as the relevant information database's did not match up. Took several weeks to get all the relevant info squared up with everyone

can anyone tell me,
If i was to replace my van sides and roof of my 90 with a CSW version, and able to get the DVLA to pull their finger out and change the class of it...
What would the insurance be likely to do ?
Go up because it's a mod
or go down because it's no longer a van ?
It's already got rear seats and is insured for them

I know that some people have had there vehicle re classed for the London emission zone.

But think they were re classified from light goods to car.

Definitely worth looking into.

if i remember correctly they had to have right vin prefex something to do with a 'h' in it.The ones without it had a nightmare

Yes think so. Was going to try and get mine changed because of working in london but its such a long winded process that i cant be arsed ill just get the train down i think.

The won't do it, end of.
I live 20 miles outside the LEZ zone & I know load's of people that have tryed.
They say, cos it was never made to have seats in the back they won't re-class it cos it's not factory fitted.
Do a seach on here for LEZ.
