Stainless not nice to work with compared to mild steel, I'd personally go for mild steel as cheap and easy.

It won't be any louder I have got 3" full rimmer bros on me 90 3.9 and it ain't that loud. Really ain't worth wasting your time mine is de-cat and s/s manifold aswell. Not as loud as I would have liked :-(
