What the feck IS IT ?
Cos if its a Defender that sounds about right LOL ok maybe a bit slow.
If its a Disco, Hippo or a Rangie thats tooooo slow by far.

How long have you had the car?
I take it it was fine yesterday, last week, last month ????

SO today it warmed up quicker ??

Has it got any water in the radiator?

its a dezul they takes an age to get warm but hold the heat well.Blank the rad off if its a problem

ive just been outside and after 25 min all the pipes are hot temp gauge as moved a bit but still not warm

what at idle?Dezuls wont warm up at idle in this weather

Should be warm after 10 minutes on the road, as already said wont get warm letting it idle. With a diesel you need to start it and away. Dont know much about freelanders but sounds like a vents not open. I know someone parked one up for 6 months when he went abroad, when he came back it started ok but no heat. Eventually the inside of the vehicle filled up with dust and straw, further investigation found a family of mice in the system, hence no heat but very warm critters.

My 300tdi takes about 10mins of driving to get to the point where you can feel the heater working. In the cold i always leave the fan switched off for about 5 mins to give it the most help to warm up. I never warm up, just give her the time it takes to get the seatbelt on and get comfy to let the oil get round the turbo then its off we go.

I have noticed that once warm, the engine will still be warm 3+ hours later after stopping!
