Please tell me this is nothing major!!!! I bought mt freelander 2.0 di 2000 model at the weekend.I went out last night for 1st time in the dark since owning and half of the dash lights were out.I have today replaced some bulbs the abs been 1 of them but still not lit up???

Does it come on then go off after a few yards or not on at all? There will be three lights together in the bottom left of the dash -i.e. TC, ABS etc.

Do you have HDC?.

Have you checked all the ABS fuses? and have you checked the ABS ECU under the drivers seat if that is disconnected then none of the HDC, TC or ABS lights will show.

I take it it does actually have ABS (and therefore all the other associated TC/ HDC etc)? Some of the earlier ones didn't as I recall - Up to 1999 - yours could be a late registered one.

hi I have just checked under the drivers seat and there is just 1 yellow plug! which was plugged in.

can anyone show me a pic where the abs pump would be in the engine bay please? my freelander is a 2000 model(may) di.

Then you've bought one without abs, tc and hdc hence why you don't get the warning lights in the instrument cluster.

I thought on a 2000 model abs would be standard??? oh well its not a major issue not having it I suppose. Thanks

braking distance will be shorter and you will have to learn to balance your right foot, meaning you will be driving properly,
