On full lock in, either direction, I hear a hissing sound.
I have checked for snakes living down there, and none evident
Is this the PAS pump, and is it normal ? Or is the noise indicative of a possible leak?

If you go on full lock (on its stop) it will hiss thats normal, shouldn't realy hold on full lock, just let the wheel back slightly to take the strain off the hydrolic system.

I am sure I read in the handbook that you should avoid over use of full lock as it will cause damage..... as mentioned by oldskool just nip it back a touch

I do ease off the lock once the sound comes , but good to know its all normal. Cheers guys.

Yeah its normal , just the pressure relief valve opening - just avoid holding it that far for long ( think its 30s for every min is the max ) .
