I am looking at upgrading my windscreen wipers on my defender and have read good things about the the Silblade silicone wiper blades (from mudstuff) and silicone wiper blades in general.

However I now come across the latest 'Flat' wiper blades, which claim to be even better, and given the effectiveness of you standard Defender/90 windscreen wipers I though that these could be a good cheap(ish) upgrade.

Does anyone on here have any experience of, or recommendations as to which are the best to go for?

Cheers Buckshot - I think my arms are OK, so will give them a go.

I'm getting a set of them myself.:)

Hi Ratty, are you getting the Flat ones as well?

Evening DTd5.:)

Yep. I'm going for flats this time. I bought a cheapo normal set off ebay and they have rusted really badly. There's no real price difference between a decent set and the flat blades so I thought I might as well try em. I fitted a set to the ballasts astra chav mobile and she loves em.

I had a set of cheapo flat blade type on my Astra - they soon got chucked in the bin and swapped for Bosch flat ones - much better.

i bought the flat blades as well, very pleased with them,no judder or smearing on the screen either.:D

I bought a set of traditionals at £1.95 + vat each... call me tight, carefull or traditional. My blades are also flat against the windscreen and my rear one works! :D
