erm - I think it is the injun/bell housing interface, so no oil (you hope). Just the clutch assembly.

Dont worry about that gasket its surplus from the bell housing to block faces ( the gasket itself is one big sheet with holes cut into it ) it seals where it should but where the bell housing is machined out for the lower bolts theres a gap so the gasket goes like that . The bell housing is Still sealed Dont worry about it Everyone is like it .

cheers sypher. just checking. i only just put the plug in, thats when i noticed the gasket.
ordered up a grease gun. need to find a good place for a drum of ep80/90. i also noticed i have a tiny bit of play in a uj 1 end of the front prop so checkin and greasein them will be the next thing i get wrong

It's alright guys, you carry on.
It's interesting to see so many people say "me too!". Cos I'm short on time and it's doing my head in, I decided to book it into Challenger4x4 and get them to tell me what the problem is. It's booked in there tomorrow morning. I'm sure that someone with any amount of LR knowledge will sus it in 5 minutes, whereas I'm such a total novice that I could spend hours trying to work it out! And with the World Cup in full swing, my time is precious at the moment.
Thanks for all the help though guys, much appreciated.
I'll let you what the problem was, hopefully some time tomorrow afternoon.
