Steering Guard / Steering Bar Protectors & Damper Relocation Kit - £35.00 : Tarantula 4x4, eXtreme Off Road Engineering

Anyone ever used these? They do seem to be a very low price for both the tubes and relocation kit?

Bars are better than a guard IMHO.

Rather than a relocation kit why not get the Defender swan neck and weld a bracket onto the chassis leg for the other end of the damper. Tis what I did. It keeps more standard parts in case of 'get you home' repair.

I've got em. But I only paid £9 plus P&P in an auction.
Problems:
The internal diameter of the tubes are to big.
The drag link one. with the damper bracket, swivels around and theres no way of securing it (I might get round to sorting out some sort of clamp someday or tapping some big holes).
The track rod one is just a tube. You have to grind off the original damper mounting. But as mentioned above the diameters to big so it'll just rattle around unless you can find some way of clamping it ( I haven't bothered fitting it).
The chassis mounting bracket had to be adjusted to fit (had to file out one of the holes as they didn't line up properly). It's also showing signs of bending despite only being used on the road (I don't think it would last long if you do a lot of off roading).
Being honest if it hadn't been so cheap I'd be a bit ****ed off with it. When I get round to sorting the Disco out properly I'll probably buy another kit (I've heard ok things about the Wizardbilt one) or maybe some Sumo bars.

im not too bothered about relocating the damper so i might just get some SUMO bars because i want to take off my steering guard

Isn't that the point of these bars, that they 'roll' over obstacles rather than being clamped and catching?
