Does anyone know anywhere that sells a DIY sniff test kit? I know its proberbly best to take it to a garage to be done but unfortunatley I cant get 5 miles down the road before overheating..... so just wondered if anyone had heard of a home kit?

I aint never seen one ..... but I do know they DO exist ....

The way I did mine on my Merc E240 was I syphoned off maybe half a jar full of water (When Warm!!) from the expansion tank into a "Pickle Jar" ( or at least a jar with a rubber sealing top) ..... & whizzed off to the local MOT testing station & got him to shuv his Exhaust gas analyiser into the jar!!!!!!..................

YEP Exhaust gasses present ........ HG FOOKED!!!!! ......


In fact now every time I go in there for summott since I got the P38 (Last week it was to check the Wheel alighment) I get him to shuv his probe in the Expansion tank..................................JUST IN CASE!!!!!!

When Steve (The MOT guy) does mine he gives the jar a fookin good shake first ....... he always says that stupid old TV ad ..... "Shake the bottle, wake the drink" ..... He say "Agitating the water" releases more trapped gasses so get a better reading ........

Couldn't Agree More Mate, Hence my "JAR INVENTION" ..... Yer can't beat a good MOT analyser.....& it costs NOWT!!!!
