Ha! Thanks for that warning! I got a pretty sharp jolt since last posting so I guess that means the coil is working! That'll teach me to hold the HT lead near the plug! I looked again at the seating of the dizzy and the lugs are offset...

I'm afraid I don't have the time to waste, they won't do anything about it I will just loose time and money on the phone or writing e-mails. If anyone wants to try on my behalf knock yourself out.

Thanks Kermit, So it should be possible to fit the dizzy both ways - mine won't seat when turned. This design of electronic dizzy has two wires coming from it, a red that goes to positive terminal and a black that goes to negative. And the...

Happy Saturday all, Mine's not so happy. I have been having running problems with my '75 2.3 petrol. It would run well for a while but then die when it got hot. It would then be fine again when it had been sitting for a while. As per advice...

Mine broke last bank holiday Friday. I wouldn’t have known except for the oil leaking out! The wheel was a little crooked but the “fix” from the recall did what it was meant to. It stopped it falling off completely!

No, I didn’t see any point. If they were going to do anything surely they would have replaced the axle at the recall!

  • miktdish
What type/year of defender do you have ? Can you post a picture of the dash ?
  • H
I've just bought my first defender. When I apply the handbrake both the handbrake warning light and brake warning light comes on. Is this normal or should it just be the handbrake warning light

It would have been interesting to see what Land Rover had to say since the failure is part of a recall. Did you speak to them?
  • Wizard2003

Hit a pot hole the other day avoiding an idiot on my side of the road. When I got to work I noticed oil dripping from the end of the axle. What I had thought was a weep from the eyeball seal recently was obviously a crack in the axle itself! The...
