Right my viscous fan has decided it doesn't want to kick in when hot but will still spin freely (stops with rolled up porn mag even when hot)so I've just fitted an electric fan ,problem is I'm short on correct tools so have not been able to remove viscous fan .my question is will leaving it on...

Replacing my viscous fan for an electric fan and was wondering do I need to put the cowling back on would I get any benefit from putting it back on ?
