As per title I've a sticky handbrake ,it seems Annie (my 90) is a hypochondriac as soon as I'd replace both headlamps and door barrels and haveing thought all was right with world the hand brake starred to stick ,I've got to rock it between 1st and reverse to get it to release ,I have noticed that the lever doesn't go totally horizontal when released is it just a case of a bit of wd40 down the cable of do I need to strip the drum ?

Fettled it ,the linkage arm wasn't fully disengaging so I've put a spring on it to pull it full out when letting handbrake off .just wondering what's next to fix .I know I need to take roof rack off but need to find a buyer for It first

If you've fitted a spring where one isn't normally fitted then you are just masking the problem and not curing it. As already stated, strip, clean & reassemble the brake and all should be ok.
Mine did the same earlier this year and it was all sorted in less than a hour

Was down visiting my son for the weekend so was a quick fix as I had a 100 drive home and didn't want to strip it down away from home just incase owt went tits up
