Help Again!! I've had my diesel Range in a Land Rover garage for 3 weeks because of it not starting when it's hot. The AA mechanic that originally looked at it when i had broken down narrowed it down to the pump in the tank because of a lack of fuel getting to the fip from the filter...

Because i had no fuel pressure and the man from the AA tested the line and said he thought the pump in the tank was not working properly. Not being mechanically minded i am relying on what i'm told.

If the tank hasn't been flushed and he's fitted a new pump (all be it a Britpart one) then is the bloke doing the job a knob?? Should he flush the tank.

I've done that little test and to be honest i could **** quicker than the speed the fuel is coming out, and i've got nowhere near 180ml of fuel in the jug. Is the fuel pipe from the tank to filter as one or is there a join of some sort? I've been told the pipe has been replaced but i haven't...

I've just had a brand new Britpart fuel pump fitted in the tank of my P38 Diesel plus a new fuel pipe to the filter housing and my mechanic now says i have very low fuel pressure from the tank. Could it really be the Britpart pump? If not, what could it be? It started fine when cold but cut out...

Can someone help please? If my gearbox oil is low and the filter possibly blocked in my 1996 diesel Range will it cause a lack of acceleration and will it leak out from anywhere onto my drive like it just has?

I already know the pump is faulty, just wondered if that causes reversing problem? Also just remembered that there is a delay in the throttle when pulling away too, ie: foot on throttle,wait a couple of seconds and off we go.....fuel pump maybe?? :(

Sorry! Forgot to mention that it's an automatic and has just had an oil change. It doesn't rev until it starts to move. Does that sound like the fuel pump problem as it seems much better when the diesel is cold and thick first thing in the morning?
