rubber pipe collapsing......would u believe it, runs ok now fank f*&k

also just something going through my mind....all my petrol pipe is rubber from the tank to the carb......could this be collapsing under the vacuum......its new pipe??

ok part two lol.....driving me insane so i did the following after each item i took her for a spin and it was the same! replaced fuel line and filter strobe timing 6' changed points and condensor bought one of those glass spark plug thingys and got the mixture bang on changed fuel pump stripped...

yes you are right as it is a single barrel and further searching on the tinternet it is the accelerator pump thingy and has a 40 thou hole lol :doh:

Dear all, should one of my jets in the bottom of the bowl have a very very minute hole in the side so when you press the throttle it bubbles?? its the left hand side one as you look from the fuel pipe end

actually delving further into it, it still ran funny and found out that the tank connection wasnt 100% sealed and the fuel pump was sucking in air aswell as fuel....re-sealed and all ok.....took her shooting last night and all was well.....even my 46yr old window wiper worked.

oh dear.....if anybody wants my address to pop down to bitch slap me they can was a blocked in line filter....what a f84774king idiot lol sorry guys

i know what you mean, will start again at A. i think i have solved the problem but when titting about thinking i know the problem i have upset the whole lot adjusting this and that. personnally i think the mixture was to rich...i sorted that first of all as the next time i took my plugs out...

after that im stumped again lol

thanks mate, have blown through pipes, changed rotor arm points condensor coil, put lots of new earths on when rebuilt landy...the funny thing is it gradually got worse over a couple of trips....thats what i dont undersrand ....should be something blocking somewhere but cleaned all. re checked...

so totally stripped carb cleaned all new gaskets etc etc....also new fuel pump test time :wtf:

ok float level ok, new points and condensor, 6'btdc timing light loads of fuel, filters clean, pump pumping etc etc should be working but still when i use full throttle after a short while it starts to kangaroo again. going to have to break out the 12 gauge soon lol or the haynes manual

ok i may have may may may sorted it the float level is was about 10mm so not much fuel set it to 6.5mm with gasket and tested seems ok. fingers crossed will keep you all inform
