    Do I need flexi/cut arches?

I've basically the same spec- Insa Special Tracks, 2 inch Lift, camel cut plus a bit more. Front wings and rear arches are now pretty well destroyed and that's without spacers. Only way to know for sure is to give it ago. You'll soon find out.

    Quick handbrake question (disco 1)

Happened to me the other day. Console back out, pull handbrake up beyond the ratchet, lever the pushrods and cam back round with small screwdriver. Console back in, careful not to push the handbrake button, and you should e OK. Should only take a pole of minutes but its bleddy annoying!

    Bigger than I expected

Quite understandble. Chopping great lumps out of th cr is quite a step particularly if it's in good nick. You should get away with 265/75 though with just the lift but if it's your everyday drive then standard is the way to go. After all, LR spend a huge amount of money to get to he basic...

    Bigger than I expected

Any update yet Horse62, are they on? Is so, pics please. Interested to see how they fit with the 2 inch lift. Have been thinking of 235/85 or 265/75 for mine, but if the 285s fit nicely then I figure why the hell not. Cheers Chris

    Newbury/Berkshire Laning

LR23, you'll be fine. Mine's std height running 235/70/16s with steering and diff guards so as you've pretty much got the same then you shouldn't have a problem . But obviously with tree sliders fitted mine is just that bit wider and 'kissed' one of the bollards.

    Bigger than I expected

Oops, my mistake. Should be OK then with a bit of cutting

    Bigger than I expected

Looks like they could be very tight to the sliders. Would be interested to see how this turns out, particularly if you get away without a suspension lift.

    Newbury/Berkshire Laning

Ideally I'd get all my transmission rebuilt but lacking the cash at the minute! Plus the fact that the Disco will be my main form of transport in a couple of weeks means I'm not so keen on pulling it all apart for a while yet. Think some secondhand spare diffs, halfshafts, gearbox and transfer...

Ah.... Not what you need by a long shot. Have you a replacement or going to sort it yourself?

    Newbury/Berkshire Laning

Thegavs Did you do the lanes today? I did from Stanmore down to North Heath and beyond, ending up by the M4. Good job I'd packed the bow saw though, came in handy on a broken overhead branch. Word of caution though. At the southern end of the seasonally closed section that runs parallel to...

    Newbury/Berkshire Laning

There are loads of lanes in West Berks around the Compton & East Ilsley area. You can also drive the Ridgeway from Streatley (J12 M4) this time of year. Drove it last weekend - a bit overgrown in places but otherwise in decent condition. Might be worth taking a decent pair of secateurs with...

Best spot lamps for a liight bar?

Seems that I've given the wrong impression here - did i mentioned using them on the road? Thought he idea of fitting high level lights was to help illuminate the terrain ahead so you can see what lies behind the obstacle in front, see the depth of the pothole, rut etc that would otherwise be...

Best spot lamps for a liight bar?

Evening all, hoping for the benefit of the collective wisdom on the Forum. Wired up the light bar on the roof recently but hadn't any need to use them until last night. Switched them on with main beam and it was bleddy awful. All working fine but the light pattern from the admittedly cheap...

    Rock Sliders

I've got a pair from RSB which fix to chassis and sill so really solid. Got to say that I'm really pleased with them. Just got to keep on his case to make them though as he does seem to operate in a slighly different time zone to the rest of the world!

    steering wheel

Perhaps a bit late Jabbae46, but all you need is a small screwdriver (or a couple) to prise out the horn push (disconnect battery first or you **** of all the neighbours) and a socket (19mm IIRC) on a short extension. Then just rock the wheel while pulling it gently. Top tip - Don't take the...

    Fuel tank woes

Thanks TMHM but have a replacement tank sorted now. Any chance you've got any other 200 spares? Specifically an air filter assembly.
