    TD4 - Poor WARM starting

Our warm/hot start turned out to be one injector with excessive leak back - this was most noticable after engine was turned off and left standing for 5 minutes or so before trying to start again. The leak back test looks the cheapest place to start without any diagnostics, else best left to a...

    TD4 Turbo

Gary - picture of solenoid / actuator in sticky post: http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/f9/td4-lack-power-70mph-fixed-77147.html as mentioned you need to view through wheel arch to see actuator rod movement - chances are this is all ok if you're not having any signifcant power loss problems, you'd...

    TD4 Turbo

While checking the vacuum hoses, it's worth a quick look to see if the boosts solenoid valve is working by viewing the rod of the turbo actuator - you can see this through the right hand (uk drivers side!) wheel arch at rear of engine - get someone to blip the accelerator and the rod should move...

    3 Amigo's -- SORTED

Jimbo - Having suffered a genuine low fluid warning moment - due to garage not tightening a rear bleed nipple fully , only the brake indicator came on, not any others  This was on a later ABS sensor type td4 although there could be a difference on the earlier setup? A faulty brake...

    urgent help needed please

As chaser says "The short pipe at the front of the engine has been disconnected from the EGR solenoid under the inlet manifold" The EGR solenoid is barely visible (best to get a mirror or small victorian chimney sweep to take a look). There's 2 pipes on the solenoid- the left as you look at...

The 3d serengeti also had dark 'privacy' hardback and quarter light glass - presumably to keep your stash of lion bars cool ;)

    Seized injector

Maybe too much of a trip for you, but JSF 4X4 in Norwich are in the "Good garage Fred" sticky post, jsf4x4/. Not used them myself though. Also, near the Suffolk/Norfolk border there's Mark Peacock Mark Peacock Land Rovers. Just had a leaking injector replaced by them for a dodgy hot-starting...

    TD4 Clutch problem

re: original poster problem, then always worth a quick look underneath for fluid leak from the slave - you might need to take the engine under tray off to be sure. If it's leaking out of the slot in the bellhousing bottom then it's an (expensive) slave job and the master could well be ok.

    No reverse lights

The short cable piece from the reverse switch plugs into a small bit of loom on the inner body almost directly above the switch itself. Just stand on the passenger (left) side and look down on top of gearbox. You might want to cable tie it to the side to stop it touching the gearchange linkage...
