Well just think I've gone someway to a result the amigos surfaced again so I got the chap with the diagnostics in and he says the only fault showing was a longitudinal accelerometer(also know as a G sensor I believe) running out of parameters, he has recalibrated and the faults have now cleared...

Thanks Nige yeah did do quite a lot of reserch as it happens and previous vehicle was a scenic Rx4 so I was fully expecting less mpg than a 2WD... but still I just felt 24-25 might be somewhat on the low side.
