2001 Td4 Brake Fluid Sensor

Hi all,

I've searched the net and cannot find this part for the freelander anywhere, perhaps I have the name wrong, does anyone know the part number and rough price... and where I can buy a replacement brake fluid sensor for a 2001 TD4 freelander?

assuming the you mean the one that goes in the top of the brake fluid reservoir to tell you when then level is too low, it's called a brake fluid level switch.

This one comes in at the bottom of the resevoir rather than the top

looks very similar to this

Got broken part out(have been suffering the 3 amigos and this sensor had a huge crack and chip out of it so after Jimbos post - link below though it worth a spin) and its an Audi Part?? I know the TD4 is a BMW engine but didn't expect that!

Couldn't find a TD4 at the scrappy and all the other models I looked at had the top mounted switch as O P said. Found a Audi... think it was an A4 or something and blow me down its the same part.

Switched the parts and used some contact cleaner and the 3 Amigos have gone, its very early days but following Jimbos thread here http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/f9/3-amigos-sorted-132674.html

hi you will find that a audi fluid level sensor is the same part no 893611377a hope this helps

The sensor connections are prone to corroding and causing warning light errors. Our fleet has the connector pins bridged out to stop the warning light errors and then we simply lift the bonnet weekly to check levels - foolproof.
