    Starter

The starter on my disco has given up, solenoid not engaging at all. Iv ordered a new one, the workshop manual talks about disconnecting front prop shaft. Is this really needed or can it be swapped out without disconnecting the prop? Its a 3.9 v8. Cheers

    Valve covers

id have all my tools but most have been packed away for a garage rebuild. Well working in the snow today i got one side finished.. what a pain! the other can wait till i have a free weekend. Found my 3/8" torque wrench only goes down to 10lb/ft so just nipped the bolts up, it'll do!

    Broken or just extremely stiff

Was checking my disco over today ready for the weekend as I may be greenlaning, so for the first time in I don’t know how long I went through the high neutral low box, bit stiff but changed ok. Then I tried to change to diff lock, now its probably not been used for 10 years but I couldn’t...

    Bloody hell fire!!

It could be persuaded to burn im sure, the half tank of lpg would make a fair hole though. Anyway, its not all bad new battery and rocker gaskets here, the work continues, it'll be at least half decent when im done.
