    Removing rear end caps

Sorry, D1, but sorted it now. Undid 2 bolts and end cap slides off. There is a small self tapper that slides in a slot in the end of bumper, but wasnt a problem.

    Removing rear end caps

Reawakening an ancient thread, is what you are saying that you only need to remove two 13mm bolts to remove the end cap with the bumper still in place, or do I need to remove the bumper first? Seems a lot of work to just stop the bloody thing rattling about.

    Three more amigos

Obviously not hard enough, cos the bastards are back again. Sometimes stay off for half a day, you stop for petrol and there they are again. Tried all the obvious things b4 I hit it. I wonder if I have a wheel bearing going that causes some movement and triggers the lights?:frusty: Can of...

    Three more amigos

Firstly, why call them 3 amigos - they are no friends of mine - 3 bastards would be a better description. Started getting them intermittently after changing vcu (cant think of a connection though). Read all the threads. Changed brake light switch (no change), Checked and cleaned connection to...

Keep hearing what an easy conversion this is, but I still havent seen evidence of one that has actually been done. Is it all an urban myth?

    whining while slowing down??

It could be a number of things, but if its under warranty why not let them sort it? Stick the prop back on and dont tell them you took it off, or they will probably say it invalidates your warranty! Whining from the back is usually caused by the Mother-in-Law, but happens more on speeding up...

    Cylinder head gasket 1.8petrol

Yup, head gasket gone. Liners shifting dont damage the gasket (thats fooked anyway) but damage the head (and the block) Skim, pressure test, metal locating pegs, new head bolts, gasket with saver shim etc may cure it, but if the liners have sunk in the block its pretty well fooked. No way of...

    Oil Overfill

You have answered your own question there. It should need choke to start from cold. If is doesnt, then it is running way to rich and that is why you are having probs.

    Problem Series 1

Just t5he opposite of icing up really! Modern unleaded fuel is apparently more volatile than leaded, so it turns to vapour at a lower temp. If the fuel system gets too hot, it can vapourise before it gets thro the carb and you get "vapour lock". If removing the spacer makes it worse (bcause the...

    Problem Series 1

If it has done it with both carbs then probably not the carb (well, less likely anyway). You seem to have changed all the obvious other bits. Have you got an inline fuel filter? These carbs are prone to blocked jets if it is sucking ****e thro from the tank. Icing is caused by damp air...
