Hmm. Problem reduced but not cured. The garage found that the rear door lock was kaput, so changed it. Also re-aligned the window. The result is that the door shuts correctly but the window glass barely drops enough to clear the top trim. OK if we push it down without too much pressure...

I see that. But with the card "club voyageur" which costs 90 €, I save that in one crossing, get free cabin both ways and pay a lot less each time. With 4 or 5 crossings per year it saves all the hassle of a long drive to Dieppe, cost of motorways, and then driving from Newhaven or Dover...

In fact I live in Ouistreham, so continue to use Brittany Ferries en route for Devon. It would cost too much time and money to go all the way up to Calais and then down from Dover! Thanks for the welcome...
