It certainly is. Most stuff for an old defender is relatively reasonably priced, and I couldn't bring myself to buy 4 of these for £40-£50!

Thanks captain and jackmac I think you are spot on. I just went and unplugged the alternator and the light went out. Does this mean it is the alternator or could it just be a poor earth?

I have seen the skins, and have a welder, but I didn't want to bother fabricating metal etc. If there was a replacement panel for the bottom of the door, I might give that a go, but knowing my welding, if I was to fabricate something it will end up not fitting and looking crap.
