It will look really good until you get it dirty. Then it will annoy you!

It passed in August like that. It is bolted, not riveted if that makes a difference?

I think you are right Mr N! I think, as much as I love the V8, I am going to have to get a, whisper it.... diesel. I hardly go anywhere and the fuel bill is annoying me!

Piccy time, Here is what I see after 5 minutes idling and around 15 mins of driving: (I really need to clean the interior!)

Is this temperature sender for the gauge: Discovery 1 Thermostat & Temperature Sender at www.rimmerbros.co.uk I'd completely forgotten about feeling rad hoses. I'll try that as soon as I get chance.

    3.9 V8 warm up time

I have a different gauge to that. I'll take a pic after a bit of driving later. It is graduated like the fuel gauge but rotated 90 degress. It's the fuel consumption that seem a bit low, even for this. Am I right in thinking the ECU ignores the lambda sensors until the engine is at 70...

    3.9 V8 warm up time

How long should it take for a Disco 3.9 V8 to get up to operating temperature? And where would this be on the gauge? I can drive for 20 minutes and it won't be at the 1/4 mark on the temp gauge. It only really gets near the middle on a motorway run. I'm wondering if my stat is...

    welding boot floor

Do you guys see any noticeable difference when using CO2 compared to normal gas? I use Hobbyweld 5 gas, but it is expensive, and the bottles seem to leak. I have a few 5kg CO2 fire extinguishers in the garage, as I use it in my aquarium.

Power steering reservoir and ignition coil.

Interesting, I didn't know there were variations within the 3.9. I thought the 200/300 was just a trim level.

Power steering reservoir and ignition coil.

Bugger! I think I'll either elongate the existing mounting holes for the coil, or drill some new ones an inch or so back. That way I don't have to bugger about with wires. Thank you all for the info. EDIT - or weld in some good metal to the arch then put it where I want. I should...

Hmm, have I bought the wrong airbox then? The one I bought looks like this: It won't sit flat, and the bonnet is being pushed up at that side.

Power steering reservoir and ignition coil.

No its definitely a 3.9. Hopefully there's enough wire to shift it back to where it belongs. Unless, it used to be a 3.5?

My blind ebay purchase 94 V8 Disco.

What's happened to all the pictures?! Anyhoo, after buying this truck, I finally got round to servicing it today. Spurred on by ridiculous fuel economy. I changed the oil, plugs, leads, distributor cap, rotor arm, cleaned the hot wire, and ditched the nasty cone filter for a proper airbox...
