ive just had this problem myself replaced starter motor after testing the old one solenoid worked but the motor didnt spin ,but still clicked with the new starter motor just not as loud still wouldn't start so a new battery and bobs ur uncle it started first turn of the key !!

i had to drill mine !! my dremmel wouldn't touch it and theres another bolt under the battery drill the head a small drill first then a large one tap the bolt head off and the stem will drop down !!
