On my Defender 90 with a 2 inch lift and large insa turbos.... I have this rattle... - it sound like its coming from under the gear box and towards the rear end. - it happens when i let off the acceleration for a second or two then stops - it happens when i softly accelerate for a second...

I have the same issue... Checked the earth and thats fine. Checked the actual temperture and that is normal (not over heating) It heats up gradually as normal but just sits on the edge of the red, even when the fan is running. ...!

I understand it's not for everyone... Each to their own I suppose, just go easy on the insults..! Sound proofing was a mix, floor and seat pan was 10mm from Flebay, then dynamite under the dash as it's much thinner. The refit was actually easier than getting it out. Not much else...

Today saw a lot of progress on the Defender.. Lower door sills replaced Top part of dash and vents fitted Lower main dash fitted All clocks back in and working after a few issues with mis labeled or not labeled at all wires.. Hot cold heating wires re run All door locks now lock...

Busy day inside the Defender... Sound deadening finished, then carpeted. All speaker wires and electrics run. Headliner went back up with the new rear view camera. New seats got placed in, need to fabricate a plate for them to fit it properly. New LED rear nber plate light...

I know... It was a job where they fitted it in between jobs.. A lot of mechanical work done included transfer and gear box.. Lots more.. I was in no particular rush.

So finally the Defender is back in my possession after three months at the garage.. Today saw me ripping out the old sound proofing to the front cab and removing the seats ready to install new sound proofing... Hopefully get some time off work to get the dash in place...
