Unless you have a ready supply of Caps around your area???
Your going to have to use social media?? Or scrap yards local to you may be a better idea, just for the top.

Anyone know where I can get the outer part of the fuel cap?
It was loose and I've been meaning to glue it for ages but out of sight etc....
Don't want to spend 50 quid on eBay for the whole thing!
And for those interested, got it all working and wired in. Very happy having my lightbar working again and does so without tacky random switches drilled into the dash.
Just need to put the roof tent and rock sliders back on and source a...
Well, funny you say that… I did last night
But only after I got fed up with it all (eventually got the regulator out - what fool thought using torx bolts in an area where you can’t easily get to…. Wait, it’s a LR…)
Anyway, got the regulator out...
Finally dealt with the horrific wheel bearing whine yesterday. After 165,000mi it was a tad unhealthy!
Took advantage of the hydraulic press and bearing puller at Uni which made the job miles easier. Just had to use some cut up stock to space...
Ok! Managed it. I unscrew the pulley beneath the 24 mm nut.
Easy! An Allen key - one screw only.
Then i could fix a 15 mm spanner on the nut behind the pulley with 24 mm nut.
(I used a regular 15 degree angle spanner).
I turned this until the...
Bothered by an annoying squeal at low speeds and pulling to the right when braking I took the front wheels off to check the discs and pads. Found a 3" piece of galvanised fence wire partially wedged between pad and disc on passenger side. It had...
Sorry, even though I've had a few landies I'd still call myself a novice with the mechanics. Don't know the spec of the bolts.
I'll change the name of this thread and see if anybody else can help.
I accept that using wrong bolts on drivetrain isn't a good idea, which is why I asked for the actual specs of the bolts (if known).
It is more to check that things work before fitting a 'proper' set. However, now I've looked at the bolts for...
Just before you go down a route of replacing parts. Just try and give the battery a charge.
Mine was sitting for a while and wouldn't start and sounded like yours, checked the battery and it was showing over 3/4 charge so didn't think it was...
I haven't got around to doing mine yet, working through the other problems with the car 😀 but (and I think other will agree) always go with new/original parts or good second hand ones. Never use off brand or random bolts especially for the drive...
Not wishing to open a new thread (and unable to find the answer to my specific query using the search function, even though it may just be me!)...
...... my Freelander td4 was bought without a prop (MOT expired and a few other minor things, now...
With my beloved 2005 5dr TD4 now getting a bit long in the tooth I've realised that I want to keep it forever, but maybe just save it for the weekend and get it in top fettle without wearing it out as a daily driver. Now I've always fancied a...
Sadly the bits don't repair the rusted frame.
You'll need a scrap vehicle to take one out of. Bolts to inside of roof. Then clean and paint with anti rust and fit along with a new seal. Check all drain pipes are clear or wet sits in frame.
Hi, folks, first time making a thread. My new (2001) Freelander sun roof is leaking. I have managed to remove the thing (just by pushing it out from the cabin)but the internal frame Looks like it has rusted to bits and most of it is on the floor...
Alas NO just had to do the jobs a few times so know the in's and out's of certain jobs you need to do, if you own a Land Rover you will soon find out to do the jobs if you are able too, ;)
Brought one home (after a 20 year break, from a 50th, not from a FL1)
I've had an 98 XDi 3dr in rioja L series, a 99 50th 3dr L-series (ex-duckworths demo), a kalahari TD4...
The 50th will keep my td5 company, but i'm tempted to just put it in...
I work around the SDR by not fixing broken bits I can live with.
The SDR monitors that there are broken bits and therefore waits for them to be fixed before breaking the next bits.
So I never have any serious problems with my Freelander ;)
No no no..... This is all wrong... You've broken your Freelander 😭
The engineering on these includes a very important feature - the SDR (Self Destruction Regulator). This module ensures that as soon as anything is fixed, something else breaks...
