feck me! it passed with NO advisories!!!

Great stuff. My 94 200tdi passed a month ago for the cost of a couple of wiper blades, and no advisories.I do look after it, but its always a great feeling to pick it up and the mechanic say what a straight vehicle it is for its age.

    Soft back.New purchase

Just picked this up today.A very reasonable 400 quid and it runs.A bit of welding to be done on the bulkhead and a few other things but at this price i lifted it ASAP. I`m laying it up untill spring as i dont have a covered work area. The canvass looks in good order with no rips or holes, but...

    More welding plate's

I had this.Day before MOT i had a poke around and my jaw dropped when my screwdriver went through the wheel arch at the seatbelt mount.Fortunately i had a day off work, so i just stripped it out and got cutting with an angle grinder. I always keep a sheet of mild steel in the garage. Its not...

    Replacing prop shaft uj.

I knew something was wrong when it got noisey.I grease them regularly, but i was supprised how quickly they go to crap. Anyways, i took the front prop off and removed the old uj simply enough, but when i reassembled it came up against a problem that cracked the top off one of the cups. The...

    Is a Discovery…

Always had a bit of a hankering for an old series since Father in law picked one up a few years ago.Agricultural as it gets,i love just being in it for the character of it. If i get one it will be mostly for `rough`.Wife wont want to be in it, thats why it will need to be tax free. Dont want...

    Is a Discovery…

Well, mines an oldie.D1.But its got considerably less gadgets, sensors and other gowrongables to worry about. It also looks the part/more capable than more modern gear.Just dont like the look of newer stuff. Even though i`ve had mine four years, i`ll still stop and stare at it sometimes.Awesome...

    Starting problem

Havent posted for a while, been really busy, but no joy at the scrapper. Both sad looking vehicles had been liberated of their starters, plus just about everything else. The bay sorted me out.86 quid, and it arrived within 24 hrs with free postage no less.Had the day off and fitted it.Been...

    Starting problem

Starters toast.By the looks of things just getting home with a bodged up connection left the starter engaged and it burnt out in the 7 miles it took. It must have seized during this time as the flywheel has milled off the starter engagement teeth. The flywheel teeth look ok from what i can...

    Fitting side window.

Its in. Rubber first then push the glass into the top, which leaves only half the glass to get in. I ran round it with a pointed piece of + section plasic covered in fairy. :)

    Fitting side window.

Sweet. Just got back. Took about 10 mins to slice it out. I`m thinking glass goes in rubber then the whole lot is pushed in.

    Fitting side window.

Thats the one martin. I`m off up the scrapper now. I`ll just cut it out with a stanley knife and see how i go.

    Fitting side window.

Went out lamping this eve and had a tree branch punch out my nearside rear side window. Easy fix? Planning on going to the scrapper as they`ve had a few discos in of late. How easy is it to remove a window then refit in my vehicle. Looked on Paddocks and couldnt find a price for new, or the...
