been reading the td4 loss of power thread and yes i have a similar problem but mine isn't at 70 miles (cant even get there!!!) its in all gears and speeds.. I wrote a thread a while agao regarding the loss of power and that i had a crack in the turbo..well i had a turbo fitted and guess...

Does anyone know a approx wieght for the l series diesel freelander engine...i'm of to pick one up for spares for my freelander and need to know if i have to go in a van!!!

i'm having loss of power also but i have a di model pre td4 but have been reading your thread with interested...
i find that equicar in birmingham is helpful and i know they have td4 engines in...well did have...

thanks for your replies guys
just phonned turbo technics and told the guy were the smoke is coming from and he said a bolt could have come loose so the gases escape and it shouldn't affect the power that much...so got a man with a spanner to try and tighten them.... couldn't get any...

Thanks for your reply...its not on the manifold its on the middle part which i presumed was still the turbo??...sorry not helping much am i!
can some one please tell me the turbo part number i need...i get a different number when i contact different landy/turbo dealers

well where do i begin...
when i start my di freelander (or tractor as he is now known) it bounces and kicks a load of blue smoke out of exhaust, once its is warmed up its fine....then i seem to give some sort of resistance when i put my foot down i cant get speed it wont go...
