hi All

been reading the td4 loss of power thread and yes i have a similar problem but mine isn't at 70 miles (cant even get there!!!) its in all gears and speeds.. I wrote a thread a while agao regarding the loss of power and that i had a crack in the turbo..well i had a turbo fitted and guess what i still have no power and lose power going up hills etc

Had it hooked up to the computer diagnostics thingy (yeap girlie language!!) and it firstly came up with fuel cut off so the landy people did a few things no difference in the end they where baffled saying it could be a wiring problem and they'd have to contact a wiring specialist......

basically, it losses power going up hills and the higher the gear the worse it is any suggestions without spending loads?????...AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH

Did they try to replace the MAF ???

Sorry, I thought you were referring to a Td4 but I now see it is a DI of 99, sorry.

Hi Vixster. . . Sounds very much like a fuel related problem, first see if your fuel filter has been changed recent , if not then change it, and after that follow the procedure of air removal in the high pressure fuel after that you will start on the fuel pump [not giving enough fuel at high end demands] you only have one fuel pump on this model, so making fault finding a bit more easy than say the td4, but of course check silly things as your air filter not clogged ,and as already said collapsed hoses, if worst case has happened [****e has got past your fuel filter ,then you will have to go down the check your injectors] but this would normally incur a smoke ing motor. . . Ming

providing you ''know someone'' the first thing i would check is the boost pressure - very simple operation for anyone with a guage, did they fit a new actuator, does yours close or open too quickly, can you hear the turbo spooling?? - after that I would have to agree that its a lack of fuel - poor timeing would mean terrible starting/tickover, blocked injectore - horrendous noises + poor combustion )smoke). If its any conselation my wife and I both have this model and hers is far and away more powerful than mine - but im slowly tracking it down, part by part !!

hi all,

thanks for your help, between us all researching and having a "man in the know" we came up with a fuel issue also so i'l get the suggestions done and let you know.
thanks again
