good evening I need some one who knows defenders well what I want to do is buy a galv chassis and use the v5 off my off roader and build a new one with a td5 engine in it so what im asking is should I get the chassis td5 spec or get the chassis for the year of my 90 and get td5 mounts with it...

i will give them a ring and see what they say . the stupid thing is that the chassis isnt in bad condition its just one part on that cross member thats rotten if i cant get one i will just have to repair myn i think many thanks for ut help

does any one no if you buy the cross member that the rear axle a fram bolts to myn is rotten its situated just behind the seat box and belive the seat box bolts to it aswell many thanks . tom

i wasnt to far away from there with my trailer plug answer lol naw you mention it ive had the exact same fault but my fault was easier to find i just followed the smoke lol glad you sorted it out

might be werth a quick look at ur trailer socket i had a damaged one on myn and that caused me loads of diffrent faults and ur problems seem to start wene u pluged somthing into it hope this helps if its not id probly start by looking at all the earthing points

my 200tdi was doing exactly the same and what i had done was i thought i was being clever by borrowing some john deer engine oil from work and changed the oil and it almost instantly smoked on low rpm so done a bit of resurch and found that basicly it was to good grade of oil changed it back to...

ive got a bit of rot on my defender 90 chassis its the part of the chassis were the rear axle a frame bolts to dont no what you would call that part cross member maybe. its not a problem at all to cut it out and weld in new metal but what i would like to no is if im cutting this section out to...
