Ah man, five minutes as a new member and already I've kicked up dust. I'll slope off into the sunset. Boiled rice. Sieve it.

    One Life Live It??????

when you say "witty", you're being sarcastic right? I find them irritating. it's about as funny as "my other car is a Porsche"

    spring lengths

It's looking pretty good now and I'm pleased. Sounds like you had a mare of a job. Mine took about an hour for each corner but I borrowed some seriously large axle stands and so lifted the whole thing up. The rears just fell out, fronts took a little compressing. Enjoyed doing it all though.

    spring lengths

i've completed the job. Long on the back, short on the front. she sits level and rides well. I've loaded the back too with some tractor weights to see if takes load ok with simulated full people load... all good. thanks all for your time. Was interesting to see how many different opinions...

What happens to all the stolen Landys??

a word of wisdom for all of those with alarmed, locked, bolted, padlocked, crook locked land rovers sitting on their drive ways at night: Don't leave your keys on the kitchen windowsill, or on a hook by the front door? place them in a drawer/cupboard out of sight or the scallies will start...

    spring lengths

there are no markings on the springs. I've got them here next to me. Nothing in the haynes by way of stats. springs are the same in all other respect (thickness of the metal, distance between the coiling... everything) just the height differs. I'm thinking long at the front because of the extra...

    spring lengths

I've just collected 4 new (to me) hd springs for the discovery. having just got home and unloaded them I've noticed they are of different lengths i.e. one pair is slightly longer than the other. Which are the front ones, the longer or shorter pair? I'm guessing longer at back, but I'm...

    lifting kits

springs, front and rear, which are the longer? or are they the same length? only I've got four springs, and they're paired in different lengths.

What happens to all the stolen Landys??

having lost a def 90 to pykie scum, and the disco nearly going the same way before christmas I have taken to drastic action... I chain it to a blood great big tree with a frankly obscenely large chain and padlock. Inside I have a big cable lock securing the lifted front seat (3 door) to the...

    lifting kits

i think this is a lesson of my needing to ask the question before I buy the parts! my justification to the wallet was the rear shocks were shot to bits anyway, and the springs were 2nd hand. thanks for the info.

    side exiting exhaust

i got me a 1991 disco. I welded me back together a 1991 disco is probably a better way of putting it!! I keep seeing the side exiting exhaust and it makes sense to have it where it's less likely to snag. So my question is, what parts do i need? or is it a make it yourself bit of pipework...

    lifting kits

I notice with some lifting kits (2") that they come with new (i guess longer) radius arms, but some don't. I guess my question is what difference would the longer arms make and if i leave the radius arms standard is that such a bad thing? I've just stuck some larger tyres on and the old girl...
