If you say the fob is not openning the door lock then I would think the problem is not the key but the fob or the Alarm control unit. How about trying to resync a new fob?

A pipe water supply was fed continuosly while the engine was running with coolant being drained on the other end. I guess that's how it is flushed. Again the oil level shows that there was a considerable drop.

I sent my Disco to the local boyz to change injector seals and washers afer some problems with starting. Got it back after some days. Two days of local running and suddenly engine overheats. I opened the bonet only to see that the oil had spluttered all over the engine area. Further checks...

The screech is there there even when stationary but the pitch goes higher when the gas pedal is pressed, showing the suspect guy is related to the pulleys coupled to the engine by the belt. I will try to look for the rusty dust as has been suggested by one of the replies here. Worth the try.

I am getting a screech from the front of my 99 Disco TD5:o. Suspecting the alternator bearings to have resigned but I need advice. Do I start with the alternator straight away or there are other things that need to be checked first? Does anyone here know the specifications for the bearings...

Where along the fuel supply system is this sedimenter? Might need to flush mine I suppose. Only know of the main fuel filter at the rear and the small funnel filter at the fuel pressure regulator. Sorry for hijacking your tread.

I will wait for Uncle CharlesY to come by:D but for the meantime could someone know where one can get a good price for the EGR Blanking kit and a straight-through intercooler pipe? Of course don't forget to guide me on a good price for the Fuel pressure Regulator as well:cool: .

My DISCO TD5 has started giving less power when taking off till after two to three hundred metres of desperate pressing on the accelerator, of course with thick dark smoke from the exhaust and less acceleration:o . The same also happens when going up slopes in mid gears but it never used to...
