I sent my Disco to the local boyz to change injector seals and washers afer some problems with starting. Got it back after some days. Two days of local running and suddenly engine overheats. I opened the bonet only to see that the oil had spluttered all over the engine area. Further checks indicate that almost all the oil somehow got it's way into the coolant system from where it was sprayed out perhaps due to overpressurising. There was not even a trace of oil in water before the boyz did whatever 'twas on the car. First impression is that they must have done something horribly wrong. To date I have replaced the oil cooler "from a scavanger", new head gasket but problem persists. Could it be something worse like cracked head or whatever? What could they have done to start the problem so suddenly? I need advice from the forum before they do or make me buy something unrelated. Brand new cooler would look like correct way but that has to come when one is sure of the cause considering the price.

Are you sure that the oil that's returning isn't oil remaining in the system from when the oil cooler failed?

How was the coolant system flushed?

A pipe water supply was fed continuosly while the engine was running with coolant being drained on the other end. I guess that's how it is flushed. Again the oil level shows that there was a considerable drop.
