Got all the brakes replaced and bled. All working considerably better than they were. Also jet washed the underside. If you're thinking of wasting your money on swarfega degreaser to clean your 40 year old land rover, don't.

Finally got around to doing the headlights, cleaned up 38 years of grease and crap from the top of the gearbox and selector and replaced reverse gate springs and tightened up the slack in the selector. And found this floating around under the floor

I took my drivers side door top off yesterday to replace it but the bolt that goes through the bottom half has sheared off. I've tried drowning it in oil, heating it and I can't seem to touch it with a drill bit to get an extractor in.....trying to resist the urge to whack it until one of us...

Cheers divie, I have seen the new pattern parts, but just seeing if I can pick up a cheaper 2nd hand decent one as by the time you take painting, priming, postage in to consideration your looking at like £50-70. That would be the most expensive part I've bought apart from the vehicle itself!

Well, we got the back done. Unions completely seized on the from drums and pipe is badly corroded so a bit of pipework next weekend. Gave all the drums a good clean and respray. Sadly discovered a lot more welding needs doing than we first thought. Going to hold us up by a few weeks

Found them. They are pre focus 24v headlight bulbs. Range from £11-16 each 😐 Halogen conversion, £30. No brainer.

See my mechanic and part owner of LR works for merc commercial and he can't get them

I'm doing mine tomorrow so will let you know.

Does anyone know where I can get 24v bulbs for my 109? They look to be bayonet type bulbs but can't find them on eBay or anything. Cheers Jim
