This indicates my soldering of the battery was not as good as it could have been, and I have a dry solder joint to fix. Just not had time to resolve it as yet!

Hi, I'm a new member that has had exactly the same problem with both fobs. I replaced the fob battery in one which resolved the problem initially, but recently the problem has re-occurred! I found that if I apply pressure in the middle of the fob by squeezing it and press the lock or unlock button at the same time, it appears to work.

Can someone help I have a freelander2 key fob does not work all the time when opening and closeing the car but it starts the car up with no problem
this is with both fobs and they have been used for atleast an hour a day thanks all tips needed
