Got the VCU from Bell Engineering, the bearings from a place that Bell recommended. As for alignment and fitting I followed Hippo's Howto guide. I basically aligned the bearings at 90 degrees to the VCU - they seems to sit in this position comfortably and I only had to tweak them a mm or two...

Sounds like it may be easier to buy some facelift bumpers and headlights and fit them.

...my mistake - I looked at foundry4x4 and read it as £27 for 1 bearing when it clearly says x2 - ooops. Oh well. Bell engineering did highly commend my chosen suppliers product however. Fingers crossed for trouble free bearings!

Right - thanks. I've order some new ones from Evolution Automotive Components - as recommended by Bell Engineering who are supplying the VCU. Seems like a competive price £51.36 for two inc delivery. Matt

Hi, A quick one...I'm getting a recon VCU and fitting it - wondered if it's worth replacing VCU bearings at the same time - I know it's only about £50 for new ones but if the old ones are fine why bother? I've also read of many problems with crap new bearings - hence my question. Cheers.

Hi, Tailgate is leaking - I've located where. It's hinge side, near to where glass joins door. On the car-side the seal has a flangey flat bit that should marry up to the odd contour of the door... I've googled it and found no solution other than buy a new seal - £100. Anyone managed to fix...

Thanks hd3 and singvogel. Interesting to note then that on mine (and suspect most other folks) that sensor had a good amount sludge in the end of it - I cant understand how it could possibly have worked correctly. Can you?

That's the sensor alright...not sure I understand what it does exactly but this bit sounds alarming: "If the sensor fails, a substitute value of 900millibars is used by the ECM producing a reduction in power due to fuel quantity limiting and EGR shut off" That manual is a great resource btw...
