Works on my '95. I lock it at standard locally but I have gen 3 which are softer at that height. Need it on the roads around here.

Sounds better. I generall use the money supermarket one, but often find different price morning, afternoon & evening for the same criteria. They reckon 20-26 days before renewal, but I often find those aren't any better. Then 3-5 days before...

Right chaps after speaking to a specilist today 'emmotts of colne' I now have the issue sorted mine did infact not have any sensors mounted behind the headlights and after been told a step by step process on how to fit it all I can now say its...

Tornado are OK. I suspect power and economy are mutually exclusive though.

The wife went on that Meerkat one in the end and it came down just under £300. Still a big increase but a third less than the renewal.

At least it was your wife :mexicanwave:

That's how my wife got pregnant that is.

The rear wiper will just be finishing off it's sweep. There's a sensor and a magnet so it knows it's not parked. The motor armature sits in a bush rather than a bearing and can get a bit rusty and start to sieze and draw too much current. Mine...

It's a worm gear so you can't move it by hand. It has current sensing so it turns off if it draws too much. If you're quick you can turn the ignition off and on then leg it to the back and help it along before the motor stops again.

Long time no see, or post or read! Well, between work, bad weather, vacation and other commitments, I didn't have time to do anything with her since the failed MOT / TÜV last autumn. But today, ladies and gentlemen, I finally did it! All...

Got it in mine and the spares car, think they only fitted Clarion and Alpine. J

Made a mount for my nano so I can check what's not working this week :vb-lol: Bit of ss strip and a bit of alloy found in my scrap draw. Bench vice and a hammer to make the bends and a couple of pop rivets, bit of sticky back foam for protection...

Have you tried Direct Line? They are good over here, halved the renewal quote from my previous insurers.

To be fair my Jag has also gone up, from £190 to £220. That's near enough 10%! Now that's a petrol so possibly more chance of catching fire than the diesel but still less, I suspect, than an EV.

That is ridiculous isn't it🤬 Ignorance it is. If they spent less money on advertisements and more money on statistics they could see the vehicles that are more susceptible to theft and not just blanket a whole manufacturers range of vehicles....

Mind you, I've seen the devastation from that EV Range Rover at the car-park at Luton Airport first-hand and f*ck me. What a mess. It is still full of rusty husks now. Floors collapsed. It must be costing millions to fix. But come on, a 30 year...

The missus just got her insurance quote for the P38A, up from two hundred odd quid to just shy of a grand. For a diesel! FFS. What are they on?

The suspension fault I was chasing for 18 months was from a bodge by a previous owner where they had just twisted the wires together. The more green the connection became the more often it happened. Once I found and soldered it it's been fine.

Spent a few hrs yesterday with a friend helping to fit a second hand blend motor to his 38 drivers side. Learnt quite a bit as did he. Ebay motor only had 2 wires, the original one had 4, looked identical outside though just only 2 wires. Insides...

Wasn't deliberate :vb-lol:. I had one, dad died and I inherited his amongst other stuff, then a friend died and left me the contents of his shed which contained another. Only one is a true dremel, the others are an aldi one and a wickes one.

That rings a bell. The GEMS is much more closely tied in to the BECM. I have a vague memory it wouldn't engage but Marty realised the diesel and Thor are different and tied a wire in somewhere or grounded it and it all started working.

Nah, about right for a v8! Rear crank seal; front crank seal; front cover gasket; valley gasket; sump gasket; sump drain plug washer; oil cooler pipe unions; oil cooler; rocker gaskets. Use Sh!tpart and you can have endless fun replacing them...

You seem to be having too many oil leaks. I suggest checking your crankcase breather system. If its not venting vapours/pressure, you'll find oil leaks everywhere...

Grrrrrr replied to the thread P38A What can kill a battery?.
No, I didn't. That's just another part of the overall system but it cannot affect the max output from the alternator. It will of course affect how much is drawn down from that max. What you're suggesting is that if you put a bigger load on an...

The power cones from the number of coils - that's roughly what is causing R[esistance] in your formula, albeit with a bit of feedback so it varies on demand. Volts times amps is watts (power). If one goes up the other goes down but the power...

There's something different in the way GEMS ties into the HEVAC. Thor and diesel are different. I cannot recall now what it is because I have had too much beer but it'll come back to me. And yes, early models were driven direct rather than by a...

While we're on it I tried some later versions of his software for the the v8 L322 on a diesel model and most of the modules on that also worked.
  • Grrrrrr
That's the part that is different. As far as I am aware the rest is the same but I may be wrong. Marty knows a lot more about HEVAC as he's had a lot more apart.

Could it be replaced with heat wrap? Like you use on exhaust manifolds
