    How to...replace coolant reservoir

Unfortunately I don't have the ability to download the RAVE CDs as the permissions are set pretty high on this computer (its a work one). Does anyone happen to be able to find the relevant info in RAVE and then post to this thread? Appreciate it's a big favour to ask of someone but it's the...

    How to...replace coolant reservoir

MHM, Thanks for the encouragment, and advice re: low level sensor. Any guidance on how to actually drain the reservoir and disconnect/reconnect the various hoses? And anything else to look out for?

    How to...replace coolant reservoir

Morning all, Just wondering what the procedure is for replacing a cracked coolant reservoir on a 2003 1.8 petrol Freelander? And how easy is it, i.e. do I need to get a garage to do it? Also, should I be worried that the bottle is cracked; is it likely to be symptomatic of other problems...

    Guess the engine part!

I should explain that I used a picture of a generic k series engine, rather than an image of my own. I have a 2003 Freelander (K series engine).

    Guess the engine part!

The reason I was planning on changing this piece out was that it came loose and was causing the car to rev to 3000 when the ignition was on (without any pedal contact). I had it fixed using some glue and a plastic tie. However, I was informed that this would only be a temporary solution and...

    Guess the engine part!

Can anyone identify the tube the red arrow is pointing to? I need to identify it so that I can replace it as it has come loose.

Problem - Reving automatically on start-up

All, Thanks for all the comments on this. Having had another look and fiddle under the bonnet it was discovered that one of the tubes had popped out of place. A temporary repair has been achieved but I reckon I'll need to replace the offending part to ensure it doesn't slip out again. Can anyone...

Problem - Reving automatically on start-up

Not sure about coolant leaking under the engine - will check later. Carpet under the dash is dry. No recent work on the engine. Temp gauge behaving normally. Engine oil level ok and no cream coloured stuff. They're classic signs of the head gasket going right? Would/could that be...

Problem - Reving automatically on start-up

No, it's a 2003 petrol Freelander. Not sure it it's related but I've been having periods of gurgling noises from behind the dashboard and my coolant level seems to be dropping pretty quickly too.

Problem - Reving automatically on start-up

Hey All, Anybody out there that can help with the following Freelander issue? Started my car the other day and the revs immediately shot up to 3000 - without me touching a pedal. After a couple of seconds the revs then went up to 4000! I've tried it a couple of times since then and every time...

Help needed - Freelander windscreen wiper problem

All, Have now managed to fix the problem and get the wipers aligned properly again :) Cheers for the advice - it was very handy!

Help needed - Freelander windscreen wiper problem

Mantamad, I've just tried your suggestion and now the wipers park themselves half way up the windscreen. Also, the initial movement is still downwards. I'm wondering whether I 'confused' the motor when I disconnected it from the old linkage. In order to separate the pieces I had to rotate the...

Help needed - Freelander windscreen wiper problem

Hi all, I've posted this on the General Forum as well, but someone recommended that I post it direct to the Freelander audience. So... The other day my windscreen wiper linkage fell apart meaning no wipers :( - although the motor was still working. I was able to get a new wiper linkage and I...

Help needed -Freelander windscreen wiper problem

bigsi13 The old linkage & motor were definitely in the park position when I took the old one out. And I have tried aligning the cam in different directions when I've re-fitted, but whenever I turn the ignition on the linnkage moves into the same position before I've even turned the wipers on...
