Switch is certainly a weak point, but are you sure that the relay is ok?

Main problem is cylinder liners slipping. I've got one for sale with just that problem. Otherwise in brilliant nick with a long MOT, but an expensive repair for whoever buys her.

That happened to me last summer in Spain. the problem was the headlamp relay which is in the fuse box behind the gear stick. If I remember rightly, there are are row of relays under the fuses. Two are the same colour - I think yellow. One is for the lights, the other for the starter...

You use the clutch to engage and disengage overdrive in the same way as any other gear change, but if OD is on you only need to change gear normally using the main gearstick. Not sure about using one with an automatic - you'd need to speak to the importer - Rocky Mountain Spares - about that...
