    Series 3 chassis number

Thanks for the link Rattlegun. If 906-00001 A would be 1971 and 906-07270 A would be 1975 that could make mine 1973 which would be nice :), unfortunately production figures could vary dramaticaly over the time slot so might sway either way. I think the vents are small but I'll need to...

    Series 3 chassis number

Hi, I bought a series 3 88" diesel before christmas and managed to haul it home this weekend. The last owner died several years ago, it has no v5 or number plates, is missing some parts and looking very miserable. I only paid parts/scrap value for it but the chassis could be fixed and and...

    S2a speedo

Hi guys, I would like to fit a S3 speedo into my S2a, I know the speedo cable connector at the head end is threaded on the S2a and the S3 is clip on so I would need to replace the cable but will the drive end then fit? and would it read correctly? Bilco

    Leather swivel gaiter pattern.

I want to make my own leather swivel gaiters for my 2a, I would like to choose my own leather and tinker around with them a bit. I'm sure someone has done this before but despite scouring the internet I cant find a basic pattern or any info. Does anyone have a pattern / information? Or is...

    series 2a 10" front brakes

Is'nt it amazing how you think you know something for certain for sure, then someone casts doubts so you research it and end up in total confusion. Simple 10" leading shoe brakes, this is how I believe it should be.- Leading shoe to the front (backplates mounted with snail adjuster forward)...

Series 2a part numbers also swivel gaiters

I have the Haynes toytown manual for the 2a which at least gives me an insight into the 2a 'gubbins and also the downloadable s3 manuals so I can at least muddle through but I find I have a continuing problem with part numbers, can anyone point me at a source for 2a specific manuals or part...

Hub seal and selectro freewheeling hub.

Hi pikefly, It's back together now, complete with new castle nut/pin. The way the FWH is constructed prevents anything falling out but I can't believe it should be like that. I was going to leave the other side alone but I guess it will be the same so best to take a look. The really...

Hub seal and selectro freewheeling hub.

Knew I'd forgotten to mention something important, there was NO CASTLE NUT/SPLIT PIN on the half shaft, it has to have been like this since before my ownership (5 years) but surely this is not right. The little felt gizmo was just sitting on the threaded part at the end of the half shaft...

Hub seal and selectro freewheeling hub.

Thanks oxides, I'm sure it will be the same PN on my 2a, I'll be glad to get it finished. Bilco.

Hub seal and selectro freewheeling hub.

Got the screws out by placing a nut over each one at a time then welding them in place down through the hole, the intense local heat from the mig may have also helped but whatever they spannered out from there. 'Phew! Checked the new seals and they are leather/metal so I will stick with that...

Hub seal and selectro freewheeling hub.

Hi oxides, I think you're spot on, has to be both axle and hub seals. Not noticed the diff oil dropping but I suppose that although the mess in the brake drum looks like gallons in real terms it may not be much. Bilco

Hub seal and selectro freewheeling hub.

Bought another hand impact driver for its bit set, interestingly its identical to the Talco one I already have but different brand name. Two of the bits have a close to optimum profile so was able to give all three screws quite a pounding. None of them budged, not even the slightest movement. I...
