I'm looking for a low cost tow car, for small caravan max budget 5K
No chance of a Freelander 2. My family have had most of the options over the years and the summary is the 1.8 wasn't great for towing but the Freelander 1 facelift TD4 that replaced it was fine. The Freelander 2 that replaced...

What are you cleaning the Maf with?

Creaking and groaning from the back end so I suspect the subframe needs some fixing. Does anyone know of a garage that has done the welding to repair it all around Wiltshire? Would rather take it somewhere that knows what they are doing already!

Swapped part and doesn't cut out as before but can be a bit sluggish still when pushed.
Straight forward to fit at least.
Found a slight split in an intercooler hose so silicones ordered. The fuel economy issue from reading could be maf? Will give it a good clean and see what happens next.

My question is did anyone else notice increased fuel...

Mine looked similar but with more oil dripping off!!
Had to trim a slight bit of plastic from the housing to fit the BMW part but other wise its straight forward.
Be ready for the little plastic T pieces for the fuel injector return lines to snap though. they really are in the way and are...

Got a egr bypass off ebay and fitted at the weekend. This was the state of the egr. Car has 140k on the clock and seemed fine just a little sluggish. I also cleaned the inlet manifold, its not spotless but a lot better!
Its not a rocket ship but the improvement in pick up is noticeable and...

Look around, i just had to get a new transfer box and gearbox for my 200tdi. looked at second hand but mostly looked like i would be in for problems again pretty soon. SO i opted for recon (actually ended up with a brandnew transfer box from landrover for recon prices thanks to some help from a...

Make sure that you dont put them to far back towards the side windows/panel as it makes the seat back to steep to particulary comfortable on a longer journies! Apart from that its pretty easy.
