A strange problem with my central locking...have done lots of searching and tried a few things out but to no avail. Car is a MY05 Freelander SE TD4. Basically, the remote key fob opens the driver's side door, but no other doors. A second key press will open the tailgate, but no other...

I hope so. Although that wouldn't necessarily explain the intermittentness of the problem (or would it?). I did read elsewhere that someone used a cheap bike brake cable tensioner to fix theirs, so if mine feels slack I'll try that route...otherwise it's onto that well known internet auction...

Yep...same problem here....very intermittent...window drops but not enough to clear, hence back door wont open. My temporary workaround (which seems to work every time) is to drop the rear window using the key fob, then use the key in the lock to raise the window up again, and voila...the rear...

Popped into my local Halfords yesterday and the only mineral-based low ash 2 stroke they had was for lawnmowers....£6 for a litre. Is this the right stuff? I also bought some injector cleaner at the same time so will try that at some point in the near future!

Over on the 911UK Porsche forum, somebody there swears by using peanut butter (the smooth, not the crunchy ones!). Mind you, most Porsche owners keep them in garages where they are safe from the tongues of gourmet squirrels :bounce:

Just picked up my 05 plate TD4 at the weekend. I must say, I'm quite impressed...here are my initial observations: not as torquey as I'd hoped but still enough to give me confidence if I'm in the right hand lane at traffic lights and there's a boy-racer on the inside revving away...will look...

Dumb question (and my first post on here...just bought an 05 TD4)... If you fit one of these boxes, do you have to let your insurance company know, and if so, can anyone say how much their premium went up by? Ta! EDIT: Just did a forum search and found the answer....lazy me....apologies.
