If any of you guys can run with this idea it would be great. I think that trying to get this organised officially right now would be near impossible :D

Other people seem to have better contacts than me to get this together, but I will do if no-one else fancies it. I am a trained barman after all!

Tokens system is what they used on the Malvern Challenge/Sun Run scouting events for leaders and 18+s.

50p a token, which were a bit o paper wiv sommat printed on it. 4 tokens got youse a pint of Doom bar, if memory serves.

Don't want to rain on anyones parade BUT swapping tokens that have been paid for,for beer IS still charging for alcohol albeit indirectly .
Besides even IF you gave it away you'd still need a licence to consume it .

Not for a second saying don't do it BUT whoever is organising it needs to do so knowing the score .

Private party with a donations pot IS a slightly different thing (Though that's still a grey area ;-)

The whole bull**** around organising events is a pain in the arse ....AND can put paid to a lot of fun
BUT the person that IS organising it stands to be in a heap of doo doo IF anything was to go titsy .

We are lucky in that we tend to use a couple of venues that cover us with their balanke PL insurance ...as that's another ball ache .
We did run a couple of events at a disused quarry using a disclaimer system BUT after finding out that legally the disclaimers were more use as toilet roll
We went off the idea lol.

As I say don't want to rain on anyones parade BUT .......

I think the way they were doing it at the one I went to was that we were buying raffle tickets, and every ticket won a pint. Or something like that.

They'd need a licence for gambling then .....
Trust me I've looked into just about every loop hole .

Councils don't like folks having fun ....AND the government don't like missing out on tax for anything .

Strictly speaking even a pint for a donation needs a chariddy collection licence .

Ok we have a man with a license!
A mate of mine and Roy will come if he is rewarded with Ale.. Sounds like my weekend just got more expensive!

Are we ok for organising Beer?

going back to the licence thingy, one who would know unless the venue asked to see it? n two if I say bought a crate of ale n someone ran out of theirs n they paid me for some of mine, would you need a licence? :D

Just to be sure that people are aware. We have a had an issue with seating and tables with the organisers so we need people to bring their own chairs as a minimum.
We are trying to get as many tables as possible but any extras will help massively.

I think we have a pasting table we can bring. I also have a couple of folding trestles if there is a spare door or boards available.
