Hi everyone. I am new here and have read some good topics and advice already. But my question is simple: EVOQUE yes or no?
I am considering buying this car and have heard so many negative comments about it... Please help me make a decision... It is my dream car. I just love it.
Things to consider:
I love the car (already mentioned 100 times)
I will not drive long miles everyday as I live 20 min away from my workplace
I am thinking about petrol - is this wrong?
I have been driving for 18 years now so hopefully that will count in terms of insurance.

Thank you!

Hi

If I may , I Think the first thing to consider is insurance as they are very high up in getting nicked

Know jlr are rolling out a software update for land rovers 2016 onwards , alas don’t know what the time period is for this update m suppose to stop relay theft

Also heard a lot of bad things about them , ie engines failing etc , may I ask what county are in and what kind of budget do u have plse

Personally never considered them as a real Range Rover but of course everyone has there own personal choice

Indeed looks like a petrol may be better over a diesel seeing short journeys can block up DPF where they can’t regen if they can’t get up to temperature

Never had one and never want one. If it ticks all the boxes and you can afford it (insurance, repair bills etc) then the decision is made. get the best example you can that's available.
I would go for petrol every time, but I'm a petrolhead. I don't like diesesed cars!
Private sale or dealer? I think i would go private next time and use the money saved on the inevitable 'hidden' repairs, or pay for a 3rd party warranty

Range Rover products, in my mind, give what people seem to like in a superficial way.
Looks nice/modern inside and out so make you feel good.
Have it for three years and give it back and get another one.
I would suggest a full warranty is needed on any modern car.
If you can afford to lose the money then why not?

It very much depends what age of vehicle you're considering, for your usage I'd say petrol is the best option, they are nice to drive and handle poor road conditions better than most vehicles of a similar size and target market. If I were spending my own money, I'd buy one over any equivalent German vehicle every time.

For me it is a straight NO every time but that’s my personal preference. I would much rather an FL2 for numerous reasons YET, it would seem for you is perhaps a YES.

If you want a RR get a RR instead

It has the LR badge so is likely to breakdown and cost money, more so with the RR badge retrofitted. but if you change your mind, given it’s current popularity with non-landroverers, it won’t be hard to sell on.

Whatever your decision if you go with anything wearing a LR badge we will do our very best to help you on your adventure.

Thank you for your answers everyone. FYI, a lady here and you probably considered this after me saying I really like the car (which I do) but as my husband said "seek advice from others, so you don't think I am against you" 😁
Keep your answers coming as I am now in two minds already 😅

To me, the Evoque is an image car, it lacks the practicality of the Freelander for example as it has little boot space and I believe not much rear passenger space. Personally, I would prefer an FL2 or even a Toyota RAV.
