hi all,

Our freelanders back door has stopped working ie, the glass will not go up or down and the door itself will not open (with or with out the key and remote). I have checked the fuse and is ok. Can anyone tell me what could cause both these problems at the same time?

When the door is open inbetween the hinges you'll see a rubber boot with all the wiring to the door.
Check this is undamaged and the connector hasn't come loose.

Oh and post a Hello in the Introduce section :)

My guess would be that the connector came undone when the door was closed, you can try to take off the door cardand have a look inside. You should still get to it even with the window down

hi like cremator said try the switches for the glass not on the door as you may have the child locks on for the window and door my friends door would not open and he kept trying for the out side then suddenly it did we still do not know why but it is still working

Is the rear wiper in the park position on the rubber strip? Needs to be for the tailgate to open. Or force the tailgate to open by putting it in safe mode and using the tailgate open fuction. Regulater needs to work but it should ignore the sensors me thinks.

the wiper sits above the rubber strip at the bottom (at an angle so bottom of the blade is on the rubber but the top is not), i did try and move it down but keeps going back up. How can i get it to sit on the rubber?

also gave the self test thing a go, but cant get it to so into test mode.

when you play with the handle you can hear the microswitch and what sounds like a relay click, but will not open.

The rear window drops slightly in order to open ona Freelander.

When closed the glass sits in the frame around door.

I am aware of this. The window needs to drop in order to open the taildoor ;)

door will not open

I gathered, but for the above reason. Window needs to drop before the door will open. If the window doesnt drop, it wont open

:)

done all things suggested, but still not door opening. Except two things.

1) how do I check the regulator is working or not ?

2) I have added a pic of where the wiper motor parks, if anyone can say its ok or not ? If not how do I adjust it ?

If its none of these what else can I do?
