Just washed my freelander and it looks great apart from the grey bumpers and trims. I've tried a spray which is intended for this but I'm not having much luck. Does anyone have any ideas please

Well I tried penut butter and the bumpers looked great for about a day, I have tried to flame them to but the looked streaky I think and oil mixed with a small amount of a thinner is next for me something to soften up the surface and get into the plastic

They do let the look of the car down loads

I also used something called black bumper restorer or something similar.
It was later I discovered that the bumpers left the factory in grey..
They are black now though. ;)

I use a turtle wax product callec black chrome and it works well. Bottle says to buff with dry cloth after after applying but I dont even do that, just apply couple of hours before washing and comes up good.

Where do you get that magic stuff from that's exactly what I need

Bought it local here in Norway, I would search ebay for "black bumper shine" or something similar, also uses a turtle wax "something", as others have mentioned before, same effect.

Not cheapest option but if contact some of the breakers on fleabay etc I'd get a full set of td4/blacker trim I got a full rear bumper for 20quid in a job lot order when I needed some parts, but I use autoglym bumper restorer /conditioner it works well and lasts a long time

Last year I bought a sprayer for moulded bumpers and asked for a sort of polish to clean the bumpers before spray it on them...they gave me a pink-coloured product which I used on the bumpers with a sponge, after that I sprayed the bumpers: they look perfect still today, but they've no longer the original grey colour and a sort of grey-blue shade of grey...not bad, though. Lots of people told me they used Arexons "Spoiler renewal" with good results.
